We often receive e-mails motivated by curiosity. They are most welcome. As there are many recurring questions we have chosen to compile a list of questions and answers. In some cases links to further information are provided.

What Camera Should I Buy?

A difficult question to answer, as our needs are highly individual. You will find in-depth information on this subject HERE.

How Can I Improve My Photography?

Everyone can improve their photography. Even the best photographers can improve their skills. No matter how skilled you are, you may find yourself in need of new inspiration. Depending on how experienced a photographer you are to begin with, you may find THIS general advice that we have compiled helpful. If you would like to attend one of our lectures or participate in one of our photo workshops, please click HERE for more information.

What Type of Camera Do You Use?

We use many different types of equipment for our productions. You will find an in-depth description of our cameras, lenses, flash units, and other equipment HERE.

What Is the Single Most Important Skill a Photographer Must Master?

There are many different skills that you must master in order to be a good photographer. There are even more if you want to be a great photographer. Read more about our opinion on this subject HERE.

How Much Do You Travel?

We have many assignments abroad, but fortunately we also have many assignments in our native Denmark. On average, we are working on productions abroad for about three months a year. Sometimes we are away for only a few days, for other projects we are away for up to several months. You may learn more about our travels HERE.

How Many Articles Do You Publish on a Yearly Basis?

On a yearly basis, we publish between fifty and sixty articles in Danish and international media.

How Do You Store Your Equipment When You Are Travelling?

We have invested in a range of different products in order to protect our equipment. During air-travel, our equipment is stored in specially designed cases made by PeliCase. In theory these cases are unbreakable, but let us see what happens. When working on assignments, we use backpacks from LowePro, each backpack is of a different size. You will find more information HERE.

What Is a Nikon Ambassador?

Nikon ambassadors help communicate knowledge about photography and knowledge about photographic equipment. Nikon asks their ambassadors to try out new equipment and give feedback on it. Nikon uses the work of their ambassadors for reference purposes. One of the advantages of being an ambassador is that it gives you an opportunity to gain a profound insight into the digital technology that is behind every photo. Being a Nikon ambassador does not mean that you are employed by Nikon, neither does it mean that you are given whatever piece of equipment you want. By the way, being a Nikon ambassador does not mean that you hate Canon or any other brand of camera. You will find more information HERE.

Isn’t It Great to Make Money from Travelling?

Yes it is. We are extremely happy with what we do, and we feel that it is a privilege. Still, there is a major difference between travelling during a vacation and travelling with the purpose of producing images and collecting facts for articles. We usually begin work before sunrise and work until an hour past sunset. Our customers are very demanding when it comes to quality, and we always have to take into consideration their wishes and their needs. We go to great lengths to create the perfect product. Consequently, we very rarely have any time left for relaxation when we are travelling. Rest is often to be found during transport by plane, car, bus or train. There is not much time to spend hanging around the pool drinking Tequilas. Click HERE to see the results of our work in our photo gallery.

Do You Give Lectures on Photography or Offer Courses in Photography?

We do. If you are interested keep an eye on the news section of our homepage. This is where you will find information on dates for upcoming courses and lectures as soon as they are set.  If you want to receive information on new lectures or courses in photography please sign up for our newsletter HERE

Work Experience

Every year we receive well-formulated and impressive applications from pupils of Danish schools who would like to spend their work experience with TTF.  We receive these applications with pleasure and pride and this makes it even harder to have to turn them all down. We are a relatively small firm and for both legal and practical reasons we cannot bring school pupils along for our assignments, whether we work in Denmark or abroad. Hopefully this will be possible in the future but for the moment it is not.

Subscribe to the inspiring TTF newsletter if you have a general interest in photography and would like to recieve advice and hints in the future.
