Gitzo
For shooting in photographically demanding environments we use tripods produced by the Gitzo company.Their tripods are reliable, light, and extremely steady. They are made from durable components, and they have many thoughtfully considered details guaranteed to please any professional photographer.  When you have to work long days in the field it is very important that your equipment does not only work correctly, but is also user friendly. In combination with our Gitzo tripods we use a so-called off-centre ball head called the G1276M.

Monopods
Most of our stands have tree legs and are so-called tripods. However, we do have one stand, manufactured by Gitzo, that consists of one single and very sturdy leg (a so-called monopod). We often use this monopod stand for assignments where we need to use the really heavy tele lenses such as the 400mm. Our monopod will carry most of the weight of these heavy lenses without reducing flexibility over much. For this reason, it is very well suited for shooting motor racing, football games, et cetera.

Manfrotto

We have two different types of tripods manufactured by Manfrotto. We use some of them in our studio, the rest we use in the field and when we are travelling. We also use several of Manfrotto’s good and steady tripod heads such as the 804RC2 and the 488RC2 ball head.

Small tripods

For the smallest camera housings we sometimes use very small tripods that have the advantage of being very light and compact.

Using them can be a great advantage when there is little room on a location or when there is not enough time to allow us to use the larger tripods.

Why use tripods at all?

Some photographers will tell you to always use a tripod, if it is, at all, possible. We believe that you should use a tripod when one is needed. Using tripods correctly may let you shoot photos you would never have been able to capture without a tripod, like the one below.
