The SB-900 and the SB-800
We often work with naturally available light, but when this is not sufficient, or when it is an advantage to supplement it with artificial light, our external flash units come in handy. These units are simply wonders of technology and they continue to amaze us.
Although we have six flash units, for some shots we use only a single flash unit. Our flash units provide plenty of light for most shots and the communication (iTTL) between flash unit and camera is invariably impressive, and the result is correctly exposed photos.

We rarely leave our flash units behind when we leave for an assignment.

Wireless control

In the old days our flash units were controlled by TTL cables, nowadays, technology has fortunately become wireless. This has made a photographer’s work much easier.

We control our SB-800 flash units wirelessly using the SU-800 or by using a flash unit as master.

For this shot we used a reflector screen and an SB-800 in order to soften up the hard light

For this photo we used a total of four SB-800 units controlled by an SU-800.

Playing around with creative lighting is great fun.
