A Book on the Danish Island of Sprogø 

’It takes only 55 seconds to cross Sprogø by train and just slightly longer by car. Just enough time to register a light-house, a few cows, grazing sheep, and a few geese, gulls, and terns. It is a gem of nature - and at the same time the single most important traffic corridor in Denmark. Is it at all possible to manage the ever increasing need for the transportation of people and goods while at the same time showing consideration for nature?’   

The above quotation is from the publication Natur og Trafik på Sprogø (Nature and Traffic on Sprogø) published by Storebælt Holding A/S. The text is written by biologist and journalist Hans Pedersen. TTF has produced all photos for this publication which will be published in Danish, German and English. Images were produced during a total of four visits to Sprogø, each visit was of a duration of twelve to twenty-four hours.
 

Having the island of Sprogø all for myself while I was working was very exciting.

Many Danes are completely ignorant of the location of Sprogø despite the fact that most of us have visited the island many times over. This publication is guaranteed to make readers more aware of a small but interesting part of Danish nature and Danish history. A part that is worthy of preservation.
