ORIS 

The Swiss company ORIS is one of the oldest watch manufacturing companies of the world. Demands for ORIS photo material are very high, this is one reason why being selected as one of their suppliers is important to us.

 
Casper’s assignment consisted in producing a photo series focusing on Carlos and his watch the “Carlos Coste Chronograph Limited Edition”. This watch, guaranteed to be waterproof to a depth of 1,000 meters, should not dominate the photos, instead it was supposed to feature discretely and naturally.  

Carlos is from Venezuela and he is the first human ever to break the magical 100 meter limit in the free immersion discipline. This feat earned him an entry in The Guinness Book of Records. He is also an Oris ambassador. Besides athletes, Oris has a history of selecting famous ambassadors for their products, e.g. the musicians Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and Miles Davis and actors Harrison Ford, Keanu Reeves, and Tommy Lee Jones.

It is always extremely interesting to work with photo production under water. Under water, light behaves very differently than it does in the atmosphere. Furthermore, the photographer is weightless and you have to work in the same way that astronauts do during spacewalks.
